Brief Project Summary:

Kansas is a naturally phosphorus (P) deficient region. The soils of Kansas contain significant quantities of P, but it is generally present in relatively unavailable or slowly available forms.

Preliminary results are indicate that broadcasting phosphorus on soil with 0 -6-in. Mehlich-3 soil test level has increased yields; band-applying 20 lb./acre phosphorus did not increase yield over broadcast alone, however, more sites may have responded to applied phosphorus in 2012 if water was not limiting; and applications of S, Fe, MN, Zn, and B did not increase yield in these experiments.
