Brief Project Summary:

This study continues the efforts of various researchers and graduate students in different states to determine the relative importance of genetic and management gains on soybean yield improvement since the 1920s. This project supports part of the total study involving the interactions of early planting, seeding rates and residue soil N and nitrogen fixation with the overall genetic gain. This project will be carried out in Minnesota and results will be combined with similar studies in Wisconsin, Illinois and Indiana.
