Brief Project Summary:

Choosing soybean seeding rate seems to be a very elementary question with relatively little economic impact on farmers, but it is actually one of the most often asked questions of the Soybean Agronomist. The answer can be quite simple or quite nuanced. While data clearly shows that planting 100K seeds will produce a near maximum yield in most instances, farmers want to ensure 100% yield potential. Economic analysis of yield responses over a large number of trials indicates that planting 120-190K will ensure similar economic returns. But we know that lower populations may encourage weed control issues and higher populations may encourage white mold development. Furthermore, many farmers...

The United Soybean Research Retention policy will display final reports with the project once completed but working files will be purged after three years. And financial information after seven years. All pertinent information is in the final report or if you want more information, please contact the project lead at your state soybean organization or principal investigator listed on the project.
