Project Summary

White mold is a disease that often causes economic damage to the soybean crop in Iowa and the upper Midwest. Years of research have not provided management options that will prevent the disease and its resultant yield losses.

Project Objectives

1. Provide performance information of new fungicides for controlling white mold.
2. Investigate how applications fungicide efficacy and economic feasibility.
3. Investigate how precision agriculture could be used to improve white mold management.
4. Develop new white mold management tactics.
5. Investigate the effect of row orientation on the production of mushrooms.
6. Develop a method to predict the production of white mold mushroom for site-specific chemical control.
